Art Educator Development


Nourish your creative practice as an artist and educator with an immersive and highly interactive studio experience at Pacific Northwest College of Art. Study with PNCA faculty and connect with art teachers and teaching artists from the region and across the U.S. in our state-of-the-art studio facilities. For more than a century, PNCA has been a leader in the professional development and success of arts educators.

 

PNCA Art Educator Workshops Summer 2017



Visual Studies Intensive for Art Educators
June 19-23, 2017, M-F, 9-4:30pm

Work in dialogue and with direction from PNCA faculty in our campus studios. Engage in discussions and critiques with other art teachers. Use our amazing campus resources to support your creative work and journey.  Focus on your creative process and ideas and nourish your practice. Develop a body of work, recharge your personal work pick up ideas to take back to teaching - or do it all!

Non-credit and graduate credit options; a statement of background and goals as well as photos/video is required of all participants; those enrolling for graduate credit also need to provide a copy of a transcript or diploma evidencing the completion of a 4-year degree; verify with your institution regarding PDU equivalency.

$390.00 for non-credit enrollment; an addtiional $60.00 fee for certificate or graduate credit enrollment.
 



Studio Sampler for Art Educators
June 26-29, 2017, M-Th, 9-4:30pm

Get hands-on with a new studio process every day! Learn from the professional artists of PNCA's faculty who introduce you to a studio project and support you and other workshop participants in exploring the medium and your creative process. Daily topics include 3D Form for 2D Artists, Digital Illustration, Printmaking, and Zines. Verify with your institution regarding PDU equivalency.

June 29: Jen Richardson-Greene - 3D Form for 2D Artists

$300.00 for non-credit enrollment; an addtiional $60.00 fee for certificate enrollment.


 

ArtHouse, PNCA’s student apartments, is located within five blocks from campus and offers a limited number of accommodations to teachers. Discounted educator lodgings are $200.00 for a double/week and $300.00 for single/week occupancy with a shared kitchen and living space in ArtHouse’s fully furnished two- and three-bedroom apartments. Registration for workshops and housing opens February 13, 2017.

 

Year-Round Programs

PNCA provides opportunities for professional development throughout the year through its Continuing Education Department. Take a look at the program of evening and weekend studio classes. Earn the PDU’s or graduate credits that you need in our deeply engaging and exceptionally personalized learning opportunities. PNCA is accredited by AICAD and NWCCU.
