2017 Pre-College Foundation Intensive

Welcome 2017 Pre-College Incoming Class

We look forward to welcoming you Monday, July 10, 2017. Program check-in is available from 8:30-9am on Monday, July 10. You'll find the check-in area on the first-floor atrium of our main campus building, the Arlene and Harold Schnitzer Center for Art & Design at 511 NW Broadway Street.

Pre-College is headquartered in Room 414 on the 4th Floor.  The instructor will be Phoenix McNamara.

Daily Schedule

9am - Noon - Morning Session
Noon - 1pm - Unsupervised Lunch
1:00 - 4:30pm – Afternoon Session

We will spend the morning introducing the class and this year’s  theme: Imaginary Worlds. We'll look at some visual examples and discuss the different forms this concept could take and how it might progress from 2D to 3D to final installation piece. We will then get into sketching and brainstorming.

In the afternoon, we will make a mood board. This is a visual representation of your ideas and inspiration, and will come in handy as a roadmap while you work. We will take the afternoon to complete these; if not finished, they will be homework. - Phoenix

Medical Release and Permission forms must be completed before the beginning of class.

Medial Release (PDF)
Permission (PDF)

The Pre-College Medical Release form provides us with the medical and contact information. The Pre-College Permission form notes which activities you will and will not allow your child to participate in.  Even if a student is 18, we still require the completion of both these forms and a signature by a parent or guardian.  Additionally, if your child is signed up for our drawing or painting courses, permission for nude figure drawing needs be marked "yes."
